Family Background:
Christopher was the eldest son of John Knubley Parker, a Justice of the Peace from Caldbeck, and Caroline Parker, from Ousby, Cumberland. They lived at Evening Hill, Thursby after marrying in 1879 in Westmoreland. John had been a 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Cumberland Infantry. Christopher seems to have been named after his paternal grandfather and great grandfather. A second son, John Henry Francis Parker was born in 1882, and a third son, Cecil Newland, was born in 1886. Christopher’s father, John died 6th November 1908 (address 1,Cecil St); £5398 3s 7d probate to Caroline. She died 22 June 1929 11, Lawn Terrace Silloth – probate to son Cecil Newland Parker retired railway employee.
