My Trip to London

Carlisle Youth Zone Ambassador

OnSide logo

On November 17th I was in London.

I went as an ambassador for Carlisle Youth Zone with an organization called Onside, they work with Youth Zones all over the place. At the moment there are 6 Youth Zones, these are: Carlisle YZ, Wigan YZ, Blackburn YZ, Wolverhampton YZ, …………. and Bolton girls club. There are 3 more youth zones being built in London right now.

When I was in London I went to The Guildhall and gave a speech about Carlisle and how we were affected by the floods last December. I had to speak in front of 400 people including the Lord Mayor. When I did my speech I felt scared at first but as soon as I finished I couldn’t stop smiling. My speech was called ‘Somewhere To Go’. I talked about how when Carlisle YZ was flooded there weren’t any other clubs as big or as fun as the youth zone.

By giving this speech I helped to raise £30 million with Onside and this money will go towards building more youth zones across the country.

I really enjoyed the whole experience and would love to do it again some time.
