‘I am hugely impressed with…training sessions…we get specific, vital knowledge from real-life, practicing teachers. In terms of school placement, I feel… immensely well supported.’

‘The training provision has been comprehensive, compelling, and of a high standard.’

We are proud of the supportive and intensive training that we offer. We aim to maximise the potential of each of our trainees.

‘I have thoroughly enjoyed the training days. Guest speakers have always been engaging and relevant, and have helped profusely with the current assignments…a warm environment for us to learn in, and I look forward to each session with the group.’

Our partnership offers trainee teachers a rich and varied experience of different types of schools in a range of settings, from schools in local market towns, to schools in an outlying villages, to city centre schools in the heart of Carlisle itself.

‘I have found it interesting going into the various schools and gaining an insight into each school’s ethos.’

‘I think it is beneficial towards my future career as it enables me to gain an understanding of various schools.’

Within the partnership we have extensive experience of delivering high quality professional development opportunities to teachers at all stages of their careers. Practicing specialists in areas such as behaviour management and differentiation from across our schools will provide expert guidance on key aspects of the craft of the classroom.

‘I have enjoyed practicing teachers giving the sessions as I feel their practice is more up to date and relevant to my own professional development.’

‘The training feels more personalised…and feels like it has been related to our growing needs.’

We are delighted to be offering our School Direct places in partnership with the  University of Cumbria  who are the third largest School Direct Higher Education partner in the UK and the largest in the North West.
