On October 21st the first six representatives of the newly formed Trinity Student News Team took part in ITV’s Open Newsroom event.
The group were introduced to the ITV Border news team and given a tour around the Border ITV Newsroom, they were then given the chance to create their own news package with Border TV reporter Hannah McNulty and Cameramen Dave Atkinson and Andy Brecken.
The Student News Team then took part in live link conversation with ITV News Presenter Charlene White from the ITV London News Studio. Charlene took questions from a number of Trinity students and stressed the importance of passion, drive and hard work as crucial characteristics in making it in news media.
Many thanks go to ITV Border and Charlene White for an inspirational day. Trinity were made to feel very welcome and the students really valued the chance to see a professional newsroom in action.
